"Ma'am, can i go back early today?" - fyi, this staff report to work at 1030hr today.

"I have plans with my guy this evening, our 3rd anniversary.." - & fyi again, her guy is another staff from the same CO, different department, and has been making me on my nerves with his crocodile character till now.

Should I pity this staff of mine? Should I give in to her just this once? (& i hv to complete all the reports & statistics alone till late at night, knowing the fact that popeye isn't fetching me??) Why is it so difficult for me to say "NO"?

Actually I don't really mind if she need to knock off 2 hours earlier than the usual, IF:

1) she report to work on time or earlier (this is common sense, am I right?)

2) she don't mind having lunch-on-the-go (well, since she came in late, knocking off early & normally took abt 2 hrs for lunch)

3) completed all her tasks that she's assigned to

4) a good potential staff right from the start

I guess this is what happen to all fresh grads (majority) who doesn't have/minimal work experience and was given a comfortable position in a top-notch MNC! They should start from scratch like most of us went through - the sufferings, the torments, the low-paid salary, the injustice, the unstable position.. only then, will they realise how lucky they are and grateful to what they have been given. Tsk..tsk.. I just hope my siblings and future kids would not do such a thing. I'll make sure I'll educate them early before they start off their working life.

So, should I still permit this staff to go off early? Hmm... Polling time bloggers!!! =)
